Wayne Wientjes
Planning Council Co-Chair
Wayne is originally from South Dakota and moved to San Antonio in 1996. He got involved in the HIV community after his diagnosis in May 2015 at the age of 45. At that point, he took it upon himself to set up and start advocating for people living with HIV/AIDS. In addition to serving as the San Antonio Planning Council co-chair, Wayne sits on the Board of Directors for “Living Positive San Antonio.” He is active in the “End Stigma End HIV Alliance” and is a peer mentor for those who are newly diagnosed.
Advocating for the HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQIA community has become Wayne’s passion. Nothing brings him more joy than being able to give back to the community he loves. “Silence = Death!” “Nothing about us, without Us
