Planning Council
The Planning Council meets monthly to discuss important issues, make decisions, and help guide HIV services across our community.
Community members are encouraged to participate and share their experiences, concerns, and needs related to HIV care and services.
Responsibilities
The Planning Council helps shape and improve HIV services in the San Antonio area. Its work focuses on understanding community needs and helping ensure services and resources reach the people who need them.
The Planning Council:

Listens to the community to better understand the needs, experiences, and priorities of people living with HIV.

Plans HIV services by helping develop plans for medical care, support services, and other community needs.

Sets funding priorities by identifying which HIV services are most needed across Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, and Wilson counties.

Reviews the use of Ryan White funding to help ensure resources are used effectively and services are available where they are needed.

Encourages community involvement by creating opportunities for people to participate in meetings, events, trainings, planning, and other Planning Council activities.

The San Antonio Ryan White Planning Council is responsible for the city-only Integrated HIV Prevention and Care Plan (aka Comprehensive Plan) which presents a roadmap for HIV services over five years, identifying specific goals, objectives, and activities that are needed to radically interrrupt transmission of HIV in San Antonio and it's surrounding counties. This plan is the cornerstone for planning and provides useful tools for measuring progress and success to achieving the set goals. This survey reflects the identified activities and goals that are crucial to ending the HIV epidemic and require your assistance in capturing sucessful outcomes. Please take the time to answer these questions as they relate to your program, organization, events, activities, and other initiatives that will help our community in this endeavor.
